Backend Engineer (JSON Schema) – Remote

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Engineer with deep expertise in JSON Schema to help us transform complex, unstructured documents into well‑defined data models. This is a remote, hourly‑contract position where you will work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure data consistency across our platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze complex documents and identify structured data points.
• Design and implement robust JSON schemas with appropriate field types and nesting.
• Define validation rules, constraints, and logical relationships within schemas.
• Develop API contracts to enable seamless data integration.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to refine data requirements and schema design.
• Document schema structures, field definitions, and usage guidelines.
• Promote best practices in data modeling, architecture, and scalability.

Required profile

• Strong experience in data modeling, schema design, and JSON schema development.
• Expertise in creating deeply nested and scalable data structures.
• Solid understanding of validation logic, field typing, and schema constraints.
• Ability to translate unstructured data into structured models.
• Experience defining API contracts and data integration workflows.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self‑motivated and able to work independently in a remote environment.
