Backend Developer – Remote (Contract, $20-$70/hr)

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Backend Developer to join our team on a contract basis. This remote position offers flexible hours (10‑40 hrs/week) and the opportunity to build high‑performance services for a fast‑growing product.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate business needs into technical specifications.
• Optimize systems for reliability, security, and efficiency.
• Write clean, well‑documented, and thoroughly tested code following best practices.
• Participate in code reviews, mentoring, and knowledge‑sharing sessions.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues, focusing on root‑cause analysis and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven expertise in backend development using modern languages such as Python, Java, Go, or Node.js.
• Extensive experience designing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
• Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, data modeling, and system security.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
