Automation Solutions Engineer – EU Delivery Stations

About the role

Amazon is seeking an experienced Automation Solutions Engineer to join the AMZL Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team. You will design, program, test, and implement software solutions that boost productivity and quality across Amazon Delivery stations throughout the EU.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot material‑handling control systems, including PLC/IPC, industrial networks, motor and servo drives, and electrical distribution.
• Develop source code for in‑house solutions on PLC/IPC platforms and SCADA/OEE systems.
• Lead international automation projects, coordinating Automation Engineers to meet business goals.
• Apply subject‑matter expertise to resolve engineering issues, reduce downtime, and support local teams.
• Create, monitor, and report on KPIs that measure machine efficiency, availability, and quality.
• Manage vendor relationships and oversee ticket resolution for network‑wide incidents.
• Provide technical guidance for cross‑functional Amazon initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Automation, Electrical, Electronics, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• Professional software development experience (non‑internship).
• Hands‑on experience with PLC‑based control systems (Siemens, Codesys, Allen‑Bradley) and automated equipment such as packaging, sortation, and conveyor systems.
• Ability to travel 40‑50% across EU locations.
