Audit Supervisor

About the role

Our client, one of the largest independent audit, accounting and advisory firms, is seeking a proactive Audit Supervisor to lead a team of trainee accountants. The role involves managing engagements from start to finish while ensuring high‑quality deliverables.

Key responsibilities

• Work directly with the Portfolio Manager and Engagement Partner.
• Manage audit, compilation, independent review and agreed‑upon procedure engagements.
• Oversee work‑in‑progress, monitoring timelines and addressing overruns.
• Mentor and train trainee accountants on‑the‑job.
• Review trainees’ work to maintain quality standards across all engagements.
• Review SAICA assessment forms.
• Handle administrative duties such as timesheet submission.

Required profile

• Matric with an Honours or Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting and completed SAICA Articles.
• Experience in compilations, independent reviews, audits and tax calculations.
• Knowledge of IFRS, IFRS for SMEs, VAT, Income Tax, Companies Act and Auditing Standards.
• Excellent attention to detail, ability to meet strict deadlines and work under pressure.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and a team‑oriented mindset.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport.
