Audit Manager – Pretoria

About the role

The client is seeking an experienced Audit Manager to lead high‑quality audit engagements from planning through to completion. You will ensure compliance with applicable auditing standards, legislation, and firm methodologies while maintaining strong client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Execute audit engagements from planning to final delivery.
• Perform substantive testing, analytical procedures, and control testing.
• Prepare and review audit working papers and supporting schedules.
• Identify audit risks and apply appropriate audit procedures.
• Supervise and mentor audit trainees and junior team members.
• Review junior staff work and provide constructive feedback.
• Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements.
• Communicate audit findings and outstanding requirements to clients.
• Investigate discrepancies and highlight potential control weaknesses.
• Maintain proper documentation and meet audit deadlines.
• Support the audit manager with complex accounting and auditing matters.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards, legislation, and firm procedures.
• Build professional relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Relevant degree or diploma in Accounting, Auditing or a related field.
• Progressing toward or holding a SAICA/SAIPA (or equivalent) professional qualification.
• Previous external audit experience.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, ISA and general accounting principles.
• Excellent analytical, numerical, report‑writing and communication skills.
• Ability to supervise junior staff and manage audit deadlines.
• Proficiency with accounting and audit software.
