Audit Manager

About the role

PwC's Private division is looking for an Audit Manager with a strong auditing and review background, with experience on small to large clients. The role is based at the Worcester practice in the Western Cape, and candidates must be based in or around Worcester. The manager works within a team, manages a portfolio of clients and the staff assigned to them, and helps solve complex business issues from strategy to execution.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of clients and review the work of staff
• Build relationships with clients and staff, plan work and allocate staff
• Coach and train staff and carry out performance appraisals
• Monitor costs and drive efficiencies, while ensuring compliance with PwC audit methodology and quality standards
• Prepare proposals for new work and write reports
• Drive risk management and collect outstanding debtors
• Handle other administrative functions

Required profile

• CA (SA) qualification and post-article experience
• Thorough understanding and hands-on experience of auditing, reviews and accounting under IFRS and IFRS for SMEs
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans
• Valid driver's licence and own transportation
• Willingness to work overtime when necessary

• Sound knowledge of AURA, MS Word and Excel
• Leadership, prioritisation, attention to detail and strong communication skills
• Accounting and financial reporting standards, credit control and financial record keeping
