Audit Manager

About the role

Zuydam Konsult is seeking an experienced Audit Manager to lead audit engagements for a diverse client base in Bellville, Cape Town. The role combines technical audit expertise with team leadership and client relationship management.

Key responsibilities

• Manage audit and independent review engagements from planning through finalisation.
• Review audit files, working papers, annual financial statements and supporting documentation.
• Supervise and support audit trainees and junior staff.
• Ensure engagements are completed within budget, deadlines and professional standards.
• Liaise directly with clients, directors and senior management.
• Identify audit risks, technical issues and file deficiencies in a timely manner.
• Assist with audit planning, resource allocation and staff development.
• Monitor progress on assignments and resolve bottlenecks.
• Maintain compliance with firm methodology, quality control requirements and professional standards.
• Collaborate closely with the Head of Audit and broader management team.

Required profile

• Completed SAICA articles.
• Post‑articles audit experience in an audit‑firm environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of auditing, accounting and financial reporting standards.
• Experience managing audit teams and reviewing audit files.
• Professional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interact directly with clients in a professional manner.
• Fluency in Afrikaans and English.

Required skills

• CaseWare (advantageous).
• Xero or other cloud accounting systems (advantageous).
