Audit and Tax Manager – Tableview, Cape Town

About the role

The Audit and Tax Manager leads the audit, annual financial statements and tax teams for a small Cape Town firm. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality engagements to the Practice Partner, managing capacity, performance and client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise, develop and allocate work for audit, AFS and tax teams, ensuring deadlines for audits, CIPC and SARS are met.
• Conduct detailed reviews of working papers, financial statements, tax computations and returns, documenting findings and following through to resolution.
• Plan and execute urgent engagements personally when no team member is available.
• Prepare audit plans, materiality assessments, risk assessments and audit reports in line with ISA and ISRE standards.
• Oversee corporate, trust and individual tax compliance, including ITR12, ITR14, VAT201 and payroll tax filings.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to complete audit, AFS and tax engagements end‑to‑end when required.
• Experience managing small audit teams and delivering work ready for partner sign‑off.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of ISA (315, 320, 330, 230, 260, 265) and ISRE 2400 standards.
• Proficiency with IFRS for SMEs, full IFRS and South African tax legislation (Income Tax Act, VAT Act, SARS processes).
