Associate Professor – Information Systems

About the role

The Department of Information Systems at Rhodes University is seeking an Associate Professor (Grade AP) to lead teaching, research and community engagement in the field of Information Systems.

Key responsibilities

• Provide academic leadership in teaching, learning and research within the department.
• Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including IT Governance, Artificial Intelligence, Digital Ethics, Digital Transformation, Systems Analysis and Design, and Project Management.
• Supervise Master’s and PhD research projects.
• Contribute to departmental, faculty and university governance and administration.
• Develop and maintain an established research group with a national profile.

Required profile

• PhD in Information Systems or a closely related discipline.
• Significant teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• Professional experience in Information Systems is an advantage.
• Proven record of research supervision and scholarly publications.
• Demonstrated leadership or administrative experience within academia.
