Assistant Tax Manager

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Tax Manager to join our boutique tax and auditing firm in Pretoria. The role involves end‑to‑end management of individual and corporate income tax compliance, ensuring accurate e‑filing and adherence to statutory deadlines.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit income tax returns for individuals and corporations using the relevant e‑filing platforms.
• Review financial records in detail to confirm compliance with current tax legislation.
• Reconcile tax‑related accounts, identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Stay updated on tax law changes and incorporate them into compliance processes.
• Support audits, respond to queries and provide information to tax authorities.
• Prepare supporting documentation for submissions and regulatory reviews.
• Collaborate with finance and payroll teams to ensure correct reporting of taxable income.

Required profile

• Finance, Accounting or Tax qualification (Diploma or Degree).
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in income tax compliance or a similar tax‑focused role.
• Proven experience with e‑filing systems and tax submission processes.
• Strong understanding of income tax principles and compliance frameworks.
• High level of accuracy and ability to manage deadlines in a structured environment.
• Professional proficiency in English and Afrikaans.
