Assistant Store Manager – Flooring Contractor

About the role

We are a trusted flooring contractor based in Honeydew, Johannesburg, delivering commercial and residential flooring solutions across South Africa. As the business expands, we seek a motivated Assistant Store Manager to oversee warehouse operations, support site management and ensure smooth material flow.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate inventory records, conduct regular stock counts, and resolve discrepancies, including batch and dye‑lot verification.
• Coordinate receipt of goods, verify deliveries against purchase orders, and prepare orders for sub‑contractors and installation teams.
• Ensure safe storage of materials, optimise warehouse space, and enforce health‑and‑safety protocols.
• Manage issuance, return and maintenance of tools, machinery and testing equipment, reporting any damage or loss.
• Capture stock movements in the system, process returns and damaged‑stock claims, and generate regular inventory reports.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) certificate.
• Basic computer literacy – Microsoft Office, Excel and email.
• Physical fitness for warehouse duties.
• High attention to detail, problem‑solving ability and capacity to work under pressure.
• Valid driver’s licence (advantageous).
• Experience in construction, hardware or flooring products (advantageous).
• Forklift licence or willingness to obtain one (advantageous).
