Assistant Product Support Manager

About the role

Komatsu South Africa is seeking an experienced Assistant Product Support Manager to lead a team of product specialists within its Product Support Services Division. This hands‑on leadership position provides technical oversight for a defined group of products, ensuring quality, compliance, and effective field campaign execution.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of product support specialists for a specific product group.
• Provide expert technical product support and insight to internal and external stakeholders.
• Oversee technical field campaigns, product quality control, and machine modifications.
• Manage service processes, systems, and adjudication of claims and costs.
• Drive continuous improvement through technical investigations and data‑driven insights.
• Ensure compliance with OEM standards, legislation, and internal policies.
• Support change initiatives, budgeting, performance management, and staff development.
• Engage with suppliers, OEMs, and customer sites to resolve complex technical issues.

Required profile

• Trade Certificate in Millwright or Electrical (essential).
• Advanced Certificate or Diploma (NQF Level 6) – advantage.
• Minimum 10 years technical experience in construction and/or mining (KLTD product knowledge).
• At least 5 years product support experience.
• Minimum 3 years leadership or supervisory experience.
• Valid driver’s licence and passport (or ability to obtain).
• Medical fitness and willingness to travel frequently to customer and supplier sites.
