Assistant Operations Manager – Sales & Customer Service

About the role

The Assistant Operations Manager will support the operations team in KwaZulu‑Natal, driving sales of self‑storage units and ensuring high‑quality customer service aligned with Stor‑Age’s core values of excellence, sustainability, relevance and integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to incoming customer enquiries via phone, chat and face‑to‑face.
• Assist customers in renting self‑storage units, selling packaging and completing related financial and administrative tasks.
• Establish rapport with potential customers and close rental sales deals.
• Administer customer accounts and provide accurate product information.
• Handle and resolve complaints while delivering superior service.
• Collaborate with all operations staff as a team.
• Earn incentive‑based commission on top of a market‑related salary.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12 education.
• Proven sales track record with the ability to close deals.
• Strong customer‑service experience across face‑to‑face, chat and telephone channels.
• Detail‑oriented administrative ability.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Own transport and a valid driver’s licence.
• Willingness to work 45 hours per week over a 5.5‑day schedule.
• Residence in close proximity to Mount Edgecombe or Ballito.
