Assistant Manager – East Rand Mall

About the role

We are looking for a dynamic Assistant Manager to lead the daily operations of our CUM Books store at East Rand Mall in Johannesburg. The role combines customer‑service excellence with staff leadership to ensure a smooth, profitable retail environment.

Key responsibilities

• Organise and oversee all store operations, ensuring efficient workflow.
• Lead, supervise and motivate a retail team, providing training and performance guidance.
• Manage the store budget, focusing on cost‑efficiency and financial targets.
• Control stock levels, conduct inventory checks and coordinate replenishment.
• Deliver outstanding customer service and resolve complaints promptly.
• Plan and execute in‑store promotions and merchandising initiatives.
• Monitor market trends to identify improvement opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and legal regulations.
• Report regularly to senior management with feedback and performance data.
