Assessment Consultant (Postgraduate)

About the role

The Assessment Consultant (Postgraduate) will support students and staff by providing expert guidance on assessment and graduation processes, ensuring compliance with university policies and facilitating smooth execution of examinations and final assessments.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise with staff, students and external stakeholders to clarify assessment policies and procedures.
• Administer assessment and graduation processes for the assigned faculties/campuses.
• Brief and orient internal and external parties on assessment and graduation protocols.
• Plan, organise and execute final assessment activities, maintaining integrity and security of examination materials.
• Coordinate viewing and remarking of assessment scripts.
• Manage appointment of external moderators/examiners and ensure moderation follows approved guidelines.
• Implement and monitor assessment policies, providing guidance to ensure adherence.

Required profile

• Extensive knowledge of university assessment rules, policies, procedures and related systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple functions concurrently and work independently within a diverse team.
• Initiative in problem‑solving and decision‑making.
• Suitable M+3 qualification.
• Minimum three years of relevant experience in examination or academic administration at a higher‑education institution.
• Willingness to undergo skills testing as part of the selection process.
