Area Manager – Western Cape

About the role

The Area Manager will lead and direct store management teams across the Western Cape to achieve sales, profit and compliance targets. This role focuses on delivering cost‑effective operational strategies and exceptional customer service for the brand.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and act on market opportunities to drive sales and profit growth through competitor analysis.
• Manage financial performance for the area, including budgets, P&L statements and financial ratios.
• Ensure internal processes, procedures and compliance standards are met.
• Drive continuous business‑process improvements and risk mitigation.
• Monitor area performance, analyse trends and report on business results.
• Implement customer‑service initiatives to enhance the shopper experience and club‑card participation.
• Support store expansion plans that improve customer convenience.
• Execute the people strategy, focusing on pharmacy and professional development, talent retention and HR policy adherence.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12; B.Com, Diploma or B.Pharm preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in area management within retail operations.
• Proven people‑management and financial‑management experience.
• Strong analytical, decision‑making and communication abilities.
