Architect Candidate – 2026 Intake

About the role

SAOTA is seeking recent Master’s graduates in Architecture to join its team as First‑Year‑Out (FYO) architects. This full‑time position offers structured training, mentorship, and exposure to diverse projects across South Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage specific aspects of project design and development.
• Liaise with external consultants, contractors, site teams, architects of record, and clients.
• Stay updated on the latest architecture, design trends, and technology.
• Produce all design documentation, including drawings, 3D models, images, and presentation material.
• Seek feedback from senior staff and incorporate technical advice.
• Support production processes and overall project delivery.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Architecture (MArch/MTech) or equivalent.
• First‑year‑out graduate ready to begin professional practice.
• Ability to interpret design briefs and produce accurate documentation.
• Methodical, detail‑oriented, and able to manage confidential information.
• Calm under pressure, self‑motivated, and proactive.
• Willingness to work additional hours, including occasional weekends.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of REVIT.
