Android Developer (South Africa)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Android Developer to design, build, and maintain high‑quality mobile applications. You will work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver innovative solutions for Android users.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop advanced Android applications using Kotlin and Java.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define and implement new features.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code.
• Integrate backend services via RESTful APIs and third‑party libraries.
• Ensure application performance, quality, and responsiveness.
• Identify, debug, and fix bugs while continuously improving performance.
• Stay up‑to‑date with Android trends, tools, and best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and share knowledge within the team.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an Android Developer with apps published on Google Play.
• Strong knowledge of Android SDK, Android Studio, and development tools.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, and third‑party libraries.
• Familiarity with Android UI/UX principles and Material Design.
• Understanding of databases such as SQLite or Room.
• Experience using Git for version control.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
