Analyst Programmer – C#/.NET, SQL & Cloud

About the role

We are looking for an Analyst Programmer to develop and support C#/.NET applications, SQL databases and cloud‑based services for Prescient Securities in Cape Town. The role blends hands‑on coding with business analysis and AI‑assisted automation.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain C#/.NET applications, desktop tools, web services and Excel‑based solutions.
• Investigate and resolve production issues, data discrepancies and system failures using SQL, logs and debugging tools.
• Collaborate with business users, quantitative analysts and the Head of Technology to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Support functional, regression and user‑acceptance testing, and produce validation evidence.
• Utilise AI‑assisted tools to accelerate coding, testing, documentation and troubleshooting while ensuring data‑sensitivity controls.
• Assist with cloud‑hosted workloads on AWS (S3, Lambda, ECS, EC2, RDS, CloudWatch) and participate in monitoring and deployment activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience with C#/.NET development and SQL data handling.
• Proven ability to support production applications and troubleshoot complex issues.
• Experience working directly with business stakeholders to clarify requirements and validate solutions.
• Comfortable using AI‑assisted development tools and eager to learn cloud and automation technologies.
