Ambulance Emergency Assistant

About the role

Life Healthcare Group is seeking two Ambulance Emergency Assistants to join the clinic team at a mining site in Northwest Brits. The role involves providing emergency medical and rescue services on a 12‑hour rotating shift schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Provide screening services for mining shaft employees across night and day shifts according to the schedule.
• Deliver quality emergency medical and rescue services at the designated client site.
• Ensure legal compliance with patient documentation, treatment, and care, adhering to HPCSA, Life EHS/EMS and client standards.
• Maintain cleanliness, infection control and safety procedures in the workplace.
• Assist with patient monitoring and treatment in on‑site occupational health clinics and perform general administrative functions such as record keeping and stock control.

Required profile

• Current registration with the HPCSA Professional Board of Emergency Care Providers as an Ambulance Emergency Assistant and a minimum of two years of clinical experience in an operational environment.
• Ability to pass a functional work capacity fitness examination and a drug‑screening test; must possess own reliable transport and accommodation near Brits.

Required skills

• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Snake Handling Course certificate.
• Defensive Driving Course certificate.
• Code C1/EC with PrDP qualification.
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Office packages.
