About the role
The client, a leading healthcare provider, is seeking qualified Ambulance Emergency Assistants (AEA/ILS) to cover part‑time shifts at private emergency service facilities across the Northern Cape. You will be part of a fast‑moving EMS team, delivering urgent patient care and supporting emergency response operations.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain operational readiness for emergency calls, ensuring all equipment and supplies are prepared.
- Provide patient assessment, treatment, and transport in accordance with the AEA/ILS scope of practice.
- Complete accurate patient report forms and documentation for each call.
- Adhere to HPCSA guidelines, clinical protocols, and facility procedures.
- Collaborate with colleagues to achieve shared goals and uphold high ethical standards.
Required profile
- Ambulance Emergency Assistant qualification (AEA/ILS) and registration with the HPCSA.
- Valid driver’s licence with a Public Drivers Permit (PrDP).
- Previous experience in an Emergency Medical Services environment; at least one year of operational experience is advantageous.
- Sound knowledge of the EMS environment, HPCSA guidelines, and patient reporting requirements.
- Commitment to professional conduct, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
