About the role
We are seeking an organised and experienced Aftermarket Controller to provide essential administrative and operational support to the aftermarket/service department, coordinating workshop activities, technicians, service schedules, job cards and customer requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Open and close work‑in‑progress (WIP) records daily.
- Create and receive outwork documentation.
- Invoice, process and file completed jobs.
- Book parts, labour and consumables.
- Prepare work orders and documentation for mechanics and technicians.
- Dispatch mechanics to breakdowns and service calls.
- Monitor and control technician workflow and recovery.
- Prepare weekly operational and service reports.
- Maintain and update service and marketing records.
- Prepare timesheets, overtime and commission information.
- Liaise with internal and external customers.
- Assist with customer queries and disputes.
- Generate and supply Kerridge orders to suppliers.
- Prepare inter‑departmental and supplier documentation for verification.
- Run the monthly service schedule and monitor daily and weekly service plans.
- Maintain accurate filing and administrative records.
- Ensure the service/workshop administration area remains organised.
Required profile
- Matric / Grade 12 qualification (essential).
- Relevant administration, technical, automotive or service‑management qualification (advantageous).
- Previous experience as an Aftermarket Controller, Service Controller, Workshop Administrator or similar role.
- Experience working in a technical, automotive, material‑handling or heavy‑equipment service environment.
- Good understanding of WIPs, job cards, parts, labour and invoicing.
- Experience coordinating technicians, mechanics and breakdowns.
- Strong administrative and organisational abilities with excellent attention to detail.
- Effective customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks in a busy operational setting.
Required skills
- Kerridge software (highly advantageous).
- Strong computer literacy.
