Admitted South African Attorney – Remote US Paralegal Role

About the role

Our client, a well‑established American boutique law firm, is expanding its international team. They are looking for an admitted South African attorney with 1–2 years of post‑articles experience to work remotely as a US Paralegal, supporting US litigators on a variety of civil cases.

Key responsibilities

• Assist US attorneys throughout the litigation lifecycle, from intake to resolution.
• Draft, review, and prepare pleadings, motions, correspondence, and court filings.
• Conduct legal research and gather supporting documentation for active matters.
• Maintain organized case files, monitor deadlines, and ensure filing requirements are met.
• Prepare case summaries, discovery documents, and other litigation support materials.
• Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and third parties as needed.
• Coordinate meetings, hearings, depositions, mediations, and client consultations.
• Support senior attorneys in workflow improvements and administrative processes.

Required profile

• Admitted attorney in South Africa.
• 1–2 years of post‑articles legal experience, preferably with litigation exposure.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Self‑motivated and comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

What we offer

• Full‑time remote position with a salary of R25,000 per month.
• Monday‑Friday schedule aligned with EST (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM).
