About the role
Discovery Insure is seeking an Actuarial Manager to lead its corporate actuarial capital function. The role will oversee regulatory capital submissions, budgeting, ORSA, capital management and ad‑hoc projects, providing actuarial insight that supports the company’s strategy and risk‑based decision‑making.
Key responsibilities
- Take overall accountability for quarterly and annual regulatory solvency submissions and liaise with the Prudential Authority.
- Own internal capital requirements, including ORSA, internal risk calibrations, economic capital model development and stress‑scenario testing.
- Develop, manage and execute the Discovery Insure Capital Plan, ensuring alignment with business strategy and risk appetite.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders across underwriting, claims, finance, investments, legal, risk and executive management.
- Represent the capital function in internal and external governance forums and drive continuous improvement of modelling sophistication.
Required profile
- Qualified actuary with several years of experience in insurance capital management.
- Strong understanding of regulatory capital, ORSA and economic capital modelling.
- Proven ability to work with senior cross‑functional teams and influence strategic decisions.
- Ambitious, self‑driven and motivated to position the company as a market leader in capital management.
