Actuarial Analyst

About the role

Join Santam’s Group Actuarial Pricing team as an Actuarial Analyst, working on personal lines pricing. You will transform data into insights that drive profitable growth and support strategic decision‑making across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance actuarial models and analytical processes.
• Design and implement pricing and risk‑management strategies that drive sustainable growth.
• Monitor and evaluate key financial, underwriting and distribution performance indicators.
• Create insightful reporting and visualisations for business intelligence.
• Contribute to data‑asset governance and support advanced pricing and predictive modelling.
• Identify opportunities for process optimisation, automation and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Distribution, Claims, Underwriting and Product teams to incorporate market trends into pricing strategies.
• Support development of product solutions for various market segments.
• Conduct ad‑hoc analysis to solve complex business challenges.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Honours degree in Actuarial Science or a related field, with progress towards actuarial qualification.
• 1–2 years of experience, preferably in general insurance pricing.
• Strong analytical and modelling skills, including statistical analysis and predictive modelling.
• Ability to source, structure and manage data effectively.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills to translate technical findings.
