Accounts Receivable Controller

About the role

A well‑established luxury hotel and lodge group in Cape Town is looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Controller to manage the full debtors function. You will ensure accurate billing, timely collections and support month‑end reporting within a fast‑paced hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Take full ownership of the accounts receivable (debtors) function.
• Process guest, agent and corporate invoices accurately.
• Perform age analysis and drive timely collections.
• Allocate payments, reconcile debtor accounts and issue statements.
• Follow up on outstanding balances and resolve billing discrepancies.
• Respond to guest and agent queries and liaise with front‑office, reservations and operations teams.
• Maintain compliance with internal controls and hospitality finance procedures.
• Assist with month‑end reporting and audit preparation.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of accounts receivable experience.
• Proven experience in the hotel or lodge industry (mandatory).
• Strong understanding of hospitality billing, reservations and guest accounts.
• Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIF).
• Experience with hospitality PMS systems such as Opera, Protel or Benson PMS.
• Excellent attention to detail and follow‑up skills.
• Professional communication style for collections.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

What we offer

• Competitive salary ranging from R 300 000 to R 360 000 per year.
