Accountant / Senior Bookkeeper

About the role

A dynamic financial services and tax advisory firm based in Johannesburg is seeking a results‑driven Accountant / Senior Bookkeeper to manage a large portfolio of corporate clients. The role is fast‑paced and requires strong client service and the ability to work under pressure.

Key responsibilities

• Full‑cycle bookkeeping and preparation of Annual Financial Statements for multiple clients.
• Manage debtor and creditor accounts, bank reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Maintain strict deadlines and ensure accuracy in all financial records.
• Provide extensive client liaison and support.
• Perform basic tax and payroll tasks when required.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in an accounting firm handling diverse client portfolios.
• Proficiency with AFS Pastel and Sage Online (essential).
• Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles.
• BCom degree or equivalent qualification.
• Caseware experience is an advantage.
• Own vehicle and driver for client visits.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
