Accountant – Remote, Afrikaans‑speaking

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Accountant who is fluent in Afrikaans and English to support multiple entities in a fast‑paced, remote environment. The role involves processing payroll, handling statutory submissions, and maintaining accurate financial records for a manufacturing organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Process accounting transactions up to trial balance.
• Run payroll using Sage Payroll Professional.
• Prepare and submit statutory returns (VAT201, EMP201, EMP501, provisional tax, income tax).
• Compile audit schedules, asset registers, and leave provisions.
• Assist auditors during audit periods and resolve queries.
• Verify payments via Standard Bank Business Online and perform supplier reconciliations.
• Complete VAT and inventory reconciliations on Microsoft systems.
• Submit ROE, UIF declarations and claim forms.
• Support the preparation of management accounts, including income statements and cash‑flow statements.

Required profile

• BCom Accounting degree.
• 4‑5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
• Fluent in speaking and writing Afrikaans and English.
• Experience working across multiple companies or entities.
• Strong numerical accuracy, logical thinking and problem‑solving ability.
• Ability to work independently from home and manage time effectively.
