Accountant – Onsite, Sandton (R30k‑R40k CTC)

About the role

Our client, a fast‑moving technology company focused on digital experience and intelligence‑led solutions, is expanding its finance team. They are looking for a detail‑oriented Accountant to work onsite in Sandton, reporting to the Head of Finance. This role offers the chance to manage core accounting functions in a dynamic, growth‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Process daily accounting transactions using Sage Accounting.
• Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and support month‑end and year‑end closing.
• Submit VAT, PAYE, UIF and SDL returns and assist with provisional and corporate tax compliance.
• Reconcile balance‑sheet accounts, investigate discrepancies and maintain the fixed‑asset register.
• Liaise with SARS, auditors, banks and external service providers.
• Identify and support process improvements across the finance function.

Required profile

• Matric or Grade 12 with a 3‑year diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a technology or similar industry.
• Strong knowledge of South African accounting principles and tax regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English and high level of discretion with confidential information.
• Ability to work independently under pressure while maintaining accuracy.
