Accountant

About the role

The Accountant will manage the company’s daily financial transactions, ensure accurate documentation, and support the finance team in delivering timely reports.

Key responsibilities

• Process daily invoicing and post bank statement transactions.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations, customer statements, and collections.
• Create journal entries and perform general ledger reconciliations.
• Handle inventory/stock costing and review trial balances on SAGE.
• Produce monthly management accounts, expense reports, cash‑flow reports, and VAT returns.
• Maintain the Fixed Assets Register and finalize month‑end and year‑end closing.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and liaise with external auditors.
• Post monthly depreciation journals and manage creditors and debtors.
• Perform ad‑hoc finance duties for ZH Group and BAOFN, including occasional travel.

• Strong leadership, organizational and communication abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
• Detail‑oriented, self‑driven thinker with high interpersonal skills.
• Proactive, initiative‑taking attitude and ownership of responsibilities.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with ERP systems; SAP knowledge is a plus.
• Familiarity with SAGE accounting software.
• Inventory/stock costing and counting experience.
