Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Accountant to join our dynamic team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will work within an established accounting firm, managing a portfolio of clients and delivering high‑quality financial services.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements, management accounts and budgets.
• Handle VAT, PAYE, corporate tax and other statutory compliance matters.
• Maintain general ledger, perform account reconciliations and manage cash‑flow forecasting.
• Provide advisory support to clients on financial performance and tax legislation.
• Ensure adherence to IFRS and South African tax regulations.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of experience as an accountant within an accounting firm.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Professional designation such as SAICA, SAIPA, ACCA or CIMA.
• Valid driver’s licence and own transport.
• Ability to provide client‑focused advisory services.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience with Sage accounting software.
• Experience with Xero accounting software.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS standards.
