Accountant

About the role

The Finance team is seeking a diligent Accountant to support internal controls, month‑end and year‑end processes, and audit queries. You will work closely with the Finance Manager, supervising financial clerks and ensuring accurate, timely financial operations across multiple sites.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain adherence to internal control procedures.
• Assist with month‑end, year‑end closings and respond to audit queries.
• Supervise financial clerks to ensure accurate and timely processing.
• Support budgeting, stock‑take, and overall stock management activities.
• Analyse new costs related to site extensions and allocate costs across the Inland Supply Chain Division.
• Prepare monthly, weekly and annual financial reports for the Finance Manager.
• Assist with capital expenditure (CAPEX), expense tracking, maintenance management and vetting of facilities quotes.
• Act as the first approver for expense claims before final sign‑off by the Finance Manager.
• Handle ad‑hoc financial queries as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience in accounting or finance functions, including month‑end and year‑end processes.
• Knowledge of internal control frameworks and audit support.
• Ability to supervise and guide junior financial staff.
• Experience with budgeting, cost allocation and stock management.
• Strong analytical skills for cost analysis and financial reporting.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
