Accountant – Financial Operations & Reporting

About the role

Pay@ is seeking an Accountant to join its finance team in Stellenbosch. The role focuses on maintaining accurate financial records, supporting management reporting and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger and allocate costs and revenues across group companies.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports in line with IFRS and statutory requirements.
• Perform account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies and reconcile intercompany loan balances.
• Execute monthly VAT reconciliations for multiple entities.
• Implement and monitor financial controls and processes.
• Review and approve new beneficiaries on banking profiles.
• Assist with external audits and provide required documentation.
• Support statutory reporting, board pack preparation and ad‑hoc financial analysis.

Required profile

• Post‑graduate qualification in finance.
• Completed SAIPA articles or at least three years of relevant experience.
• Experience with financial reporting for listed entities or strong knowledge of IFRS and statutory reporting.
• Fluent business English and reliable transport.
