Account Sales Executive – HR & Payroll Solutions

About the role
We are looking for an Account Sales Executive to lead the growth of Sage’s HR & Payroll solutions across South Africa. Based in Johannesburg, you will combine strategic selling with strong customer and partner engagement to expand market share.
Key responsibilities
- Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets for the Sage HR & Payroll suite.
- Identify, target and acquire new customers in collaboration with the Sales Manager.
- Manage partner opportunities from inception to closure, supporting their sales and marketing activities.
- Conduct site visits and meetings with existing and prospective clients to present solutions and demonstrate value.
- Perform cost‑benefit and needs analyses using Sage tools and collateral.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activity and customer needs to inform sales strategy.
- Maintain accurate opportunity records, forecasts and close plans in Salesforce.
- Prioritise daily, weekly and quarterly objectives and act as a brand ambassador on professional networks.
Required profile
- Degree, diploma or equivalent in Finance, Business or IT (BCom Marketing advantageous).
- Minimum 8 years of customer‑facing sales experience, preferably in HR and Payroll solutions.
- Proven presentation and demo abilities with influence at all decision‑making levels.
- Self‑starter with a results‑driven mindset, capable of independent work and team collaboration.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong understanding of the HR & Payroll industry and ability to translate market insights into sales opportunities.
