Account Manager – Johannesburg

About the role

IAG Cargo, the airfreight logistics arm of International Airlines Group, is seeking an Account Manager for its Johannesburg hub. The role focuses on maintaining high standards of professionalism while delivering revenue, yield and volume targets in line with the company’s commercial plans.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and grow relationships with existing customers and develop new business opportunities.
• Identify and promote premium products and new destinations using IAG Cargo’s global network.
• Analyse the impact of aircraft and configuration changes on network performance.
• Plan and execute sales calls, including agendas, objectives and account development plans.
• Collaborate with marketing to design and implement incentive deals and commercial initiatives.
• Utilise commercial data sources (Pulse, MIS, WACD) to inform decision‑making.
• Manage flight plans, cancellations and maximise available capacity.
• Coordinate with Revenue Management, Operations, Finance and Global Commercial teams to ensure resource alignment.
• Monitor under‑performing routes and develop corrective action plans.
• Track customer loyalty programmes and ensure targets are met.
• Prepare weekly and monthly performance reports.

Required profile

• Proven experience in account management or sales within airfreight, logistics or related sectors.
• Strong relationship‑building and communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to analyse commercial data and translate insights into actionable plans.
• Experience working cross‑functionally with revenue, operations, finance and commercial teams.
• Organised, proactive and capable of delivering high‑quality sales calls and reports.
