Account Manager: Electrical

About the role

The Account Manager – Electrical will be responsible for managing a portfolio of customer accounts, driving sales growth and delivering technical support on RSA electrical standards. You will build strong, sustainable relationships with both existing and new clients while ensuring high service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and grow a range of customer accounts, meeting ambitious sales targets.
• Provide technical advice on RSA standards and specify products for industrial applications.
• Analyse the marketplace, design and execute a market strategy, and report results monthly.
• Identify new product opportunities, position product ranges in client stores, and develop launch programmes.
• Collaborate with Category Managers and Specialists to meet sales targets, respond to client enquiries within 48 hours, and prepare quotes weekly.
• Generate and follow up on leads, conduct weekly client calls, and use sample stock, demo kits and catalogues to promote products.
• Gather market and competitive feedback, propose turnkey solutions, and support exhibitions and events.

Required profile

• Matric and a recognised electrical qualification (B.Tech or B.Sc).
• Minimum 5 years of sales experience in the electrical sector.
• Valid driver’s licence and own reliable car.
• Demonstrated tenacity in challenging situations and high accuracy in task execution.

Required skills

• Knowledge of RSA electrical standards and product specifications.
• Ability to produce accurate quotations and enquiries.
• Lead generation and market analysis capabilities.
• Effective product presentation using catalogues, demo kits and charts.
