Account Handler – Motor Insurance

About the role

Our client, a licensed short‑term insurance provider, is seeking enthusiastic, target‑driven Account Handlers to join the Motor division call centre. This junior‑level position offers full training and a clear career path in insurance sales, focusing on generating motor insurance leads and converting them into policies.

Key responsibilities

• Initiate contact with business partners and representatives through cold calling and pre‑qualified leads to generate motor insurance opportunities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with partners to ensure a steady flow of quality leads.
• Capture all leads accurately in the internal Softsure system from email, WhatsApp and telephone.
• Provide timely feedback to partners on lead status and assist with any relationship issues that could affect lead volume.
• Quote, negotiate and finalise motor insurance contracts with clients, upselling relevant products.
• Monitor lead quality, referral fee payments and partner performance, liaising with internal departments as needed.
• Support the sales team with client information required for quoting and follow‑up on policy cancellations.

Required profile

• South African citizen (in line with the client’s Employment Equity Plan).
• Matric/Grade 12 qualification; a relevant degree or RE5 qualification is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organisational ability, attention to detail and capacity to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work under pressure, remain flexible and function well within a team.
• Discretion when handling confidential information and a results‑driven sales orientation.
• No prior experience required – full training will be provided.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the internal Softsure CRM system for lead capture and tracking.
• Effective use of email, WhatsApp and telephone for communication and lead generation.
