Account Executive (Short Term Broker - Cape Town)

About the role

Our client, a leading binder broker, is seeking an experienced Account Executive to join their short‑term insurance brokerage team in Cape Town. The role focuses on driving new business, retaining existing clients, and managing a portfolio of commercial lines accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Secure new business and retain existing accounts within the short‑term insurance market.
• Maintain accurate daily records of sales activity, client documentation and performance against budgets.
• Adhere to all procedural manuals, deadlines, and response‑time standards for emails and calls.
• Visit and service client portfolios, ensuring insurance requirements are met in line with industry regulations.
• Develop and implement retention strategies and contribute to a positive sales culture.
• Support training, development and performance management of strategic accounts.

Required profile

• Matric qualification and fully fit and proper status (FAIS and RE).
• 5–10 years’ experience as a Client or Account Executive in short‑term insurance, preferably within a brokerage environment.
• Strong commercial lines and complex commercial business knowledge.
• Valid driver’s licence with reliable transport.
• Passion for client interaction and business retention.
