Youth Opportunity – 12‑Month Fixed‑Term Retail Role

About the role

This is a 12‑month fixed‑term position aimed at young South Africans who want to start their career in a dynamic retail environment. You will work on the shop floor, interacting with customers and supporting daily store operations. The role provides a valuable first‑hand experience in retail sales and customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Assist customers with product inquiries and purchases.
• Maintain store presentation standards, including merchandising and stock replenishment.
• Process transactions accurately using the point‑of‑sale system.
• Support promotional activities and seasonal campaigns.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve sales targets.

Required profile

• Age between 18 and 28 years.
• Matric qualification preferred.
• Available for a 12‑month fixed‑term contract.
• Not employed permanently with a single employer for more than one year.
• Not enrolled in full‑time studies during the employment period (April 26 – March 27).
• Never previously participated in the YES programme.
• Willing to arrange personal accommodation and transportation if needed.
• Preference given to candidates from designated groups under the Employment Equity Act.
