About the role
The Wills Drafting Centre is seeking a professional Wills Drafter to produce high‑quality wills, trust deeds and other estate‑planning documents. You will ensure all drafts meet South African legal standards while delivering fast, accurate service to clients.
Key responsibilities
- Draft, review and amend wills, trust deeds and related estate‑planning documents in accordance with client instructions.
- Maintain compliance with South African legislative and audit requirements.
- Provide technical drafting support to grow and retain the centre’s client base.
- Ensure the end‑to‑end drafting process is completed within 30 days of instruction.
- Stay up‑to‑date with legislative changes and industry best practices, offering guidance to stakeholders.
- Manage relationships with end‑users, SMEs, project managers and staff.
- Continuously improve personal competencies and contribute to process training.
Required profile
- Professional proficiency in English and Afrikaans (written and spoken); additional knowledge of isiXhosa, isiZulu or Sesotho is a plus.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Law, Estate Planning, Trust Administration or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in wills drafting, estate planning or legal practice.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, attention‑to‑detail and organisational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
- Discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive client information.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Experience with document‑management software systems.
