Water Resource Engineer – Pumping Stations

About the role

We are looking for a qualified Civil or Mechanical Engineer with proven experience in mechanical and electronic plant for water and wastewater pumping stations. The role involves analysis, design and documentation of pump stations, ensuring reliable operation of water and wastewater infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Engineering management of water and wastewater projects.
• Design of water and wastewater infrastructure, including pump stations, surge protection, inlet works, screening facilities, odour control systems and mechanical plant for treatment works.
• Selection and specification of mechanical and electronic equipment.
• Perform engineering analysis for project optimisation.
• Compile tender and contractual documents.
• Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with design and standards.

Required profile

• B Eng/BSc/BTech in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
• 3‑5 years of experience in water and wastewater engineering, specifically with mechanical and electronic plant for pumping stations.
• Experience with treatment processes for water and wastewater is advantageous.
• Registration with ECSA is advantageous.
• Knowledge of relevant standards, regulations and legislation in the water and wastewater sector.
