Warehouse Supervisor – George (Western Cape)

About the role

The Warehouse Supervisor will be the on‑site leader of our George warehouse, responsible for the end‑to‑end flow of goods. Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, you will ensure accurate receiving, storage, picking and dispatch while maintaining safety and customer service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily warehouse operations including receiving, inventory control, order picking, packing and dispatch.
• Open, secure and close the facility each day, safeguarding assets and ensuring site security.
• Supervise temporary labour sourced through brokers – allocate tasks, conduct inductions, verify attendance and monitor performance.
• Maintain accurate stock records through cycle counts, FIFO handling and regular reconciliations.
• Prepare and submit daily/weekly operational reports on stock movements, labour utilisation and performance metrics.
• Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, housekeeping standards and lone‑worker procedures.
• Provide professional service to walk‑in customers and collection clients.
• Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives to boost productivity.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent; further qualification in logistics or supply chain is a plus.
• 3–5 years of warehouse experience with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or team‑lead role.
• Experience in receiving, dispatch, inventory control and operating within a building‑materials or distribution environment is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of ERP or Warehouse Management Systems.
• Valid forklift licence.
