Warehouse Pharmacist – Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance

About the role

The client in the pharmaceutical industry seeks a Warehouse Pharmacist to maintain warehouse quality systems and ensure all warehousing and distribution activities meet regulatory and operational standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update SOPs, manage deviations, CAPAs and change controls through to closure.
• Train warehouse staff on Good Warehouse Practice (GWP) and related SOPs.
• Conduct self‑inspections, coordinate third‑party audits and prepare for regulatory audits.
• Oversee validation projects, equipment calibration and technical agreements.
• Monitor temperature and humidity, manage excursions and out‑of‑spec conditions.
• Supervise receiving, dispatching, cycle counts and stock control.
• Coordinate product sampling, investigations and destruction of goods.
• Initiate risk assessments and contribute to Quality Management Reviews.

Required profile

• BPharm degree.
• Active membership with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).
• 2–3 years experience as a Warehouse Pharmacist.
• GWP/GDP training.
• Experience in pharmaceutical distribution/wholesale.
• More than 1 year of QA experience.
• Knowledge of validation protocols.
