Warehouse Manager

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Warehouse Manager for our retail distribution warehouse in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing inventory, people, processes and systems while driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the warehouse complies with company standards and health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Manage efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of a wide range of goods.
• Maximise space utilisation and strategically plan warehouse layout, routes and deliveries.
• Track quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times and overall efficiencies.
• Perform weekly cycle counts and investigate any inventory discrepancies.
• Meet cost, productivity, accuracy and timeliness targets.
• Facilitate effective communication within the team and across the site.
• Supervise, coach and train the warehouse team while maintaining accurate attendance records.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports for management.
• Remain on call for emergencies and resolve issues promptly.

Required profile

• Matric qualification; tertiary logistics or warehouse qualification is advantageous.
• Minimum 7 years of warehouse experience, including at least 4 years in a managerial role.
• Strong ability to adapt quickly to operational demands and improve existing processes.
• Proven leadership skills with a focus on developing team members.
• Excellent communication skills for interpreting and conveying policies.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable personal transport.
