About the role
The Ward Clerk – Trauma provides essential administrative support to the nursing team at Life Wilgers Hospital. Reporting to the Unit Manager, the role ensures smooth inter‑departmental communication and assists with non‑clinical tasks to maintain optimal service levels.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate bookings and patient transport.
- Maintain and file patient documentation accurately to mitigate medico‑legal risks.
- Attend scheduled meetings and in‑service training.
- Support the nursing team with interdepartmental liaison and communication.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, emergency plans and protocols.
- Deliver friendly, helpful client service and uphold professional secrecy.
Required profile
- Matric (Grade 12) qualification.
- General administrative experience.
- Strong attention to detail and result‑orientation.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
