About the role

Optivet is hiring a full-time Veterinary Receptionist in the Randburg area of Gauteng. The role welcomes clients and their pets with professionalism and compassion and keeps the practice running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

  • Welcome clients and their pets
  • Manage appointments, including bookings, confirmations and follow-ups
  • Handle a high volume of calls and emails accurately and courteously
  • Process payments, handle invoicing and maintain financial records
  • Maintain and update patient files and practice management systems
  • Help coordinate admissions, discharges and treatment plans
  • Support pet owners with information and guidance where appropriate
  • Liaise with veterinarians, nurses and support staff
  • Keep the reception and waiting area clean, organised and welcoming

Required profile

  • Previous experience as a veterinary receptionist is essential
  • A passion for animals and their well-being
  • Excellent communication skills and a friendly personality
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts
