Vehicle Technician

About the role

A full-time Vehicle Technician position (reference 5306) is open in Gqeberha. The role covers the preparation, servicing and repair of vehicles in the workshop, using modern diagnostic equipment, and involves working closely with customers. Salary is commensurate with experience, plus incentive and standby incentives.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure enough productive hours are sold compared with the hours available.
• Prepare, service and repair all workshop vehicles to standard.
• Provide diagnostics for steering, brakes, transmission, drive train, fuel systems and electronic components.
• Use modern diagnostic equipment to interpret findings and service electronic equipment.
• Complete job cards to specification and record them accurately.
• Explain service details to customers and eliminate service comebacks caused by careless work.

Required profile

• Grade 12 qualification or equivalent (essential).
• An accredited motor vehicle technical qualification from a recognised institution (MERSETA or similar).
• A fully completed motor trade apprenticeship (MERSETA).
• Valid South African driver's licence and own reliable transport.
• Verbal and written English.
