Vehicle Stock Controller – Automotive Dealership

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Vehicle Stock Controller to join a well‑established automotive dealership in Hermanus. The role focuses on accurate administration, monitoring and control of both new and used vehicle inventory while supporting dealership finance and sales processes.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain precise records of all vehicle stock, including new and used units.
• Capture, process and reconcile stock transactions promptly.
• Administer floorplan financing and perform related reconciliations.
• Ensure vehicle documentation complies with dealership standards.
• Monitor stock movements, transfers and deliveries.
• Prepare regular stock reports for management.
• Liaise with Sales, Finance and Service departments to optimise stock flow.
• Assist with monthly stock takes and reconciliations.
• Keep vehicle files up‑to‑date and accurate.

Required profile

• Immediate or short‑notice availability.
• 3‑5 years of dealership experience in vehicle stock control or similar automotive administration.
• Strong knowledge of franchised dealership stock processes.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Excellent organisational, record‑keeping and communication skills.
• Valid South African driver’s licence and professional appearance.
• Contactable references.

Required skills

• Experience with the Automate dealership management system (advantageous).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities.
• Competence in using the broader Microsoft Office suite.
