Universal Banker – Funeral & Life Insurance Sales

About the role

This 12‑month fixed‑term position focuses on driving sales growth for funeral plans and life insurance within Liberty's personal banking division. Based in Johannesburg, you will engage clients through outbound telesales and virtual interactions, identifying protection needs and converting them into suitable insurance solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Proactively conduct outbound telesales and virtual client engagements to promote funeral plans and life insurance.
• Perform needs analysis by asking insightful questions to uncover insurance gaps.
• Develop and present tailored product recommendations based on client circumstances.
• Execute targeted outbound sales campaigns to reach prospective and existing clients.
• Explain product features, benefits, premiums, and policy conditions clearly.
• Accurately capture and process insurance application details and maintain up‑to‑date client records.
• Monitor and report on sales performance against targets while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• National Certificate in Banking (NQF 5) or equivalent qualification recognised by FAIS.
• Minimum 12 months continuous experience in target‑driven telesales or outbound sales.
• Ability to engage effectively with clients over the telephone and achieve sales targets.
• Familiarity with CRM systems, sales reporting procedures and conversion metrics.
• Fit and Proper status under FAIS requirements.
