Unit Manager – Specialized ICU

About the role

Life Beacon Bay Hospital is seeking a Unit Manager for its specialised Intensive Care Unit. The role involves managing and coordinating clinical practice, resources and staff to meet the hospital’s objectives of quality care, growth and people development.

Key responsibilities

• Provide effective clinical leadership by implementing nursing care plans and coordinating multidisciplinary treatment programmes.
• Act as a clinical expert to achieve optimal patient outcomes and ensure staff and student competence.
• Promote customer satisfaction, address complaints, conduct quality care rounds and clinical audits.
• Implement national quality initiatives, identify safety risks and drive corrective actions.
• Lead people management processes, sponsor LHC initiatives and maintain a positive professional environment.
• Participate in business planning, budgeting and manage nursing costs, stock utilisation and equipment maintenance.
• Build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including doctors, patients, families and service providers.

Required profile

• Proven clinical expertise in an ICU setting.
• Strong leadership and people‑management capabilities.
• Experience driving quality improvement and risk mitigation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Ability to manage budgets, resources and equipment effectively.
